Blue Spalted Maple Pen, Gold Trim, #0123

A blue stabilized spalted maple pen with gold trim and pocket clip. A vacuum removes air molecules from the softer portions of the wood and replaces it with the blue dye resin. The parts that are more blue were the softer parts and the black and tan parts were the harder parts of the wood. After it was removed from the vacuum solution , it was baked for two hours leaving it in a very solid state, kind of like petrified wood.
The pen blanks are then turned on a lathe, sanded , and finished with many coats of an very hard clear finish that produces a long lasting shiny surface .

The hardware on this pen is 24kt gold metal plating with a twist action mechanism. The pocket clip is gold with a rectangle black crystal near the end.
Refill is a Cross type writer common at business stores.

Pen is 5 1/2" long and weighs about 2oz.
