Southwestern Turquoise Feather Pen, Wheat Penny Center Band, High End Ballpoint, #303
A custom resin feather pen with an authentic copper wheat penny coin ring center band topped off with a real stone turquoise cabochon. The pen clip is highlighted with five small turquoise stones specifically glued and sealed.
This is pen number 2 of a limited set of four to be made in the Pensbykstrauss shop. This particular pen took an enormous amount of time and precision to make with many different procedures. Seven vintage feathers placed on a marble background one at a time glued and sealed.
Precise metalsmith work in creating a center band from an outdated one cent penny coin sized exactly to fit over the feather quills.
Eventually the entire pen tube, feathers and center band are sealed several times again before casting in a clear resin. After curing, the pen blank is turned on a lathe and custom fit to the parts of the pen they are to fit.
Finally the resin is sanded, micro sanded, polished and buffed to a glass like finish that will last a very long time.
This particular pen frame is a twist action movement with an antiqued copper finish highlighted by turquoise stones.
This pen comes equipped with a German made Schmidt 9000 easy flow writer with black or blue ink, medium point. (use the menu to choose color). This is probably in my opinion one of the best writing refills available and still staying in the ballpoint class without jumping up to the roller balls.
This is a very smooth writing pen that glides across the paper.
A regular Parker refill also fits this pen. Your choice of writing tips is available from the menu. If you want the ultimate writing ease and ink transfer this is the pen for you., the black and blue are 9000 Easy flow refills that write more like a roller ball but are still in the ballpoint family.
This is classified as a larger pen as it measures .665" in diameter at the widest center point by 5.250" long and weighs 1.8 ounces
